My first try on Micro Fiction using the 'Bubble Diagram Method'. Here goes nothing:
The Fireman
The inferno continued on its path of destruction.Pandemonium. Chaos.
Nightmare.
Someone died. Someone cried.
Courage took over my senses and I dashed in.
Inside the building, a child I see.
Helpless he is.
I carried him out of the reach of death.
I fell. He escaped.
A medal of courage went into the vault.

Great! It works. I like the message, the picture, the wording...well done. Giving up a life to save a life and having the reward tucked away in a vault...nice touch!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure whether you noticed this, but the word 'vault' also means 'grave(n)'. That means the protagonist died.
